This week’s quote is inspired by the Food Film Festival. Have a great week!
“The best way to lose weight is to close your mouth – something very difficult for a politician. Or watch your food – just watch it, don’t eat it.”
–Edward Koch

Well, I’m officially back to reality after almost 2 weeks of gluttonous indulgence. Was too afraid to step on the scale this morning because I know I’m not going to like what I see.
This week’s quote comes from French humorist Erma Bombeck, and highlights some pretty sage advice that I definitely did not follow whilst on my cruise.
“Never order food in excess of your body weight.”
–Erma Bombeck
So mad that I listened to that horse instead of betting on the ravens. Booooo. Then again I’d only have voted on the Ravens because of that Sandra Bullock movie. Whatever… Football is dumb.
I’m sure you guys made something delicious… I made loaded tater tots (tater tachos) which were freaking delicious… This quote accurately depicts how I make my super bowl decisions, and I love it.
“I predict one of these two teams will win the Super Bowl.”
–Gilbert Gottfried
I still haven’t gotten the hang of writing “/13” at the end of dates. Hopefully you guys have a better grasp on it than I do.
This is a quote for all of you out there who’ve already given up on your New Year’s Resolutions. Last year I was one of you! This year, I’m a bridesmaid in 3 weddings, so I don’t really have a choice but to stick to these stupid diets. For those of you still hanging in there, ignore this quote! Stay motivated!
“The second day of a diet is always easier than the first. By the second day you’re off it.”
–Jackie Gleason
Hey everybody! My birthday was last week (HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!) and my awesome boyfriend bought me a gorgeous sapphire necklace, a fancy three-course dinner, and a kitten. Jewelry, delicious food, a KITTEN…what else could a girl ask for?
Here’s a picture of Ben holding my new kitten. His name is Weasley, because he’s a ginger. And I love him.
Fezzik still isn’t sure how he feels about this new furball hanging out around the apartment. He’s been hiding in my closet a lot. But they’ve started playing together more and I think Fezzik is starting to tolerate his new lil buddy.
Today’s quote is in honor of my super awesome new furry family (Ben is somewhat included in that… not that he would know since he NEVER READS MY BLOG). But, I digress. Enjoy your week! I hope you’re all looking forward to a couple more Boston posts!
“Love me, feed me, never leave me.”
— Garfield
Hope everyone had a safe and fun-filled Labor Day weekend! I know I had fun. A little too much fun, in fact. Lauren was in town, so we went a little crazy with the food and drinks. But it was totally worth it. I’m just glad I had an extra day to recover. Hooray for three day weekends!
On Sunday we saw Legally Blonde: The Musical at the historic Dock Street theater downtown, starring our friend Sean Bear. It was really good, although having no A/C in the theater was not very fun, especially since it was a full house and 92 degrees outside. But, I highly recommend seeing it, ’twas very funny!
I spent most of “Labor” Day sleeping and eating. Which was pretty awesome. I slept til one pm, and then got Jack’s Cosmic Dogs with my parents and Cullen (who were in town for a wedding). Then I took a nap. Then Ben and I watched Meet The Robinsons and then I went to sleep. Pretty much it was the perfect day.
I know I owe you guys a Boston Round Up, so expect that to happen later this week! I’m thinking Thursday.
This week’s quote is in honor of Labor Day, and comes from the ever-hilarious Stephen Colbert. Enjoy!
“Have a relaxing LaborDay everybody! Unless you’re catering my BBQ, in which case, stay focused and keep the sangria chilled.”
–Stephen Colbert
So. This weekend was pretty great. I enjoyed myself. Went to two restaurants for restaurant week (reviews will be up soon, I hope!), went out with Kathleen and Trish for a much needed girl’s night, hung out with a really cute boy, and spoke with a terrible British accent for the majority of the weekend. It was pretty much the best weekend ever.
In honor of my British fest, here’s a quote from the very funny John Cleese that sums up my thoughts on vegetarianism.
“If God did not intend for us to eat animals, then why did he make them out of meat?”
–John Cleese
